The goal of the research, within an interdisciplinary team, is to develop integrated and economically viable cropping systems that mitigate and adapt to climate change, reduce pest infestations, provide diverse environmental services in the region, and promote sustainable intensification of agriculture.
Cropping Systems Modeling Scientist
(Research Soil Scientist/Research Agricultural Engineer)
The goal of the incumbent’s research in the areas of crop and soil modeling is to develop and apply strategies that simulate crop growth and spatiotemporal energy and mass flows across the complex landscapes of the region.
Remote Sensing Scientist
(Research Soil Scientist/Research Agricultural Engineer)
The goal of the incumbent’s research in the area of remote sensing is to assess crop stress and performance across agricultural fields and landscapes of the Inland Pacific Northwest.
Air Quality Scientist
(Research Agricultural Engineer/Soil Scientist)
This position will lead a research program in the area of air quality to assess cropping system performance across agricultural fields and landscapes of the Inland Pacific Northwest.
